Vendetta tutorial by artofjokinen Vendetta tutorial by artofjokinen
Hi guys!

Some of you have been requesting a tutorial from me so I decided to finally write a quick walkthrough of one of my images. Hope you enjoy this one and I'll be making more soon :) Don't hesitate to ask me if you have any questions.

I wonder how long did it take you to finish this arwork from original sketch to final product?

Nice work, I really like this style that looks like a physical painting! Can I ask what your brush(es) settings are when you paint like this? And do you at some point hide or merge your initial sketch with the colored painting?

Hei!

Täytyy tutustua tähän tarkemmin. Olen harjoitellut maalaamista viimeaikoina ja tästä on varmasti hyötyö. Arvostan vaivannäköäsi paljon, sillä tykkään töistäsi todella paljon.

Kiitoksia
-Petri

I'm still new at digital painting (like as of yesterday lol). How many total layers did you use?

Can't really recall since I usually just create a new layer when I need one and merge them as I go. But frankly the amount of layers one uses isn't really that relevant :) as long as your computer can run smoothly feel free to use as many as you like!

Oh YAY! This is absolutely wonderful! Thanks for doing this <3 I've always wondered how people do this style (having no formal training in any arts I have really no idea XD) and I know it sounds silly, because it's pretty simple, but Iiiii just can't seem to get it right :P

...and I shouldn't comment before looking through the whole thing XD Oh god. Well it's still beautiful, and great tips on composition! I absolutely adore the colours.

Glad you liked it! :) I find it difficult to retain some much sought after looseness in my work even today. The big boys just make it look so easy and effortless. In reality looking effortless is often the hardest thing :)

Well that. Heh, that is probably so!

I'm actually interested, funnily enough, in brush settings and colouring techniques. That somehow doesn't come very naturally to me. I keep changing everything all the time... X)
